Heart Storm in the Forest of Curls

I have watched a decent amount of Steven Universe, though I have not watched the entirety of the series. I know enough to say that this piece is very strong and emotional. Pearl loved Rose so much, and no it looks as though Pearl is forced to cut through one of the features that truly defined her lost love: Rose's hair. And with the weapon that once belonged to her as well.

The fact that there are pearls lying within the hair is a great touch, as it symbolizes the closeness between the two characters. Your shading is smooth and well done in my opinion. You really seemed to capture the sadness in Pearl with the tears streaming down her face--yet you can tell she is still determined to do what is best for everyone else. The only real issue I have with this piece is that there is too much pink. I understand that many of the pink elements are used to emphasize the feeling of the piece, but I feel like it needs broken up more.
